How it is applied
DKP Signature Wax is deliberately kept simple. No long waiting times, no complicated preparation. Four steps — done.
Prepare surface
Clean the paint thoroughly and dry it completely. Polish beforehand if there is heavy dirt or scratches — wax is not a corrective agent, but a protectant. The better the paint underneath, the better the result.
Apply thinly
Apply the wax sparingly and evenly with the included application sponge. Thin is better than thick — too much wax is harder to buff off and does not improve the result.
Let it set
Allow the wax to cure for up to 20 minutes until a light haze forms. For the best result, work in the shade — direct sunlight causes the wax to dry too quickly.
Buffing
Buff off residues streak-free with a clean microfiber cloth. No physical effort required — the wax is easy and even to remove.

How often should DKP Signature Wax be applied?
With normal use, the protective effect lasts up to 6 months. A simple test: when water no longer beads off clearly, it is the right time for a new layer. We recommend renewing the wax at least twice a year — after winter and before summer.
Can Signature Wax be applied to freshly polished paint?
Yes — and that is the ideal time. After polishing, the paint is in its best condition. The wax seals the result and protects the freshly polished surface. Important: remove all polish residues completely before applying the wax.
Is the wax also suitable for dark paint?
Yes. Signature Wax is suitable for all paint types, including dark and black paint. The Carnauba content visibly enhances color depth — the effect is particularly pronounced with dark shades. Thin application and complete buffing are crucial to avoid streaks.
What is the difference to a ceramic coating?
Signature Wax is a natural Carnauba wax — easy to apply, lasts up to 6 months, without special preparation or curing time. Ceramic coatings like DKP CeramiX Ultra 5 offer up to 5 years of durability through chemical bonding with the clear coat. Wax and ceramic are not mutually exclusive: wax is ideal as a regular gloss topping over a ceramic coating.
Can Signature Wax be applied over a ceramic coating?
Yes — it is actually recommended. Carnauba wax as a topping over a cured ceramic coating enhances the gloss effect without impairing the protective layer. The durability of the wax is slightly reduced as it adheres less to the smooth ceramic surface than to bare clear coat.
