Turkey, coastal salt, summer heat, aggressive water — what's still on the paint after 2 years?

In Short

Skoda Kodiaq RS. 2 years. 20,000 km — including a trip through Turkish coastal regions and Anatolia. High salt content, hard water, summer heat. Conditions that would normally attack any unprotected paint. What kept the CeramiX Ultra 5 safe from this — see it in the video.

The Conditions

This is no short-term test. The CeramiX Ultra 5 has been sitting on a white Skoda Kodiaq RS for 2 years — a daily driver with real everyday mileage.

Add to that a trip to Turkey: coastal regions with high salt content in the air, highway drives through Anatolia, and hard water that would aggressively eat into unprotected paint in summer heat. The car hadn't been washed for around 1–2 months before the car wash test — moderately dirty, real-world condition.

Condition Before the Test

Not washed for 1–2 months — moderately dirty

Hard water at 40 degrees eats into unprotected paint. The question is what a ceramic coating can still hold off after 2 years.

The Results

After the car wash, the B-pillar — high-gloss black trim, one of the most scratch-sensitive surfaces on a car — shows no scratches. Neither on the B-pillar nor anywhere else on the vehicle.

Same picture on the hood, the high-gloss side mirror, and the driver's door: the beading effect is still there after 2 years — barely weakened, almost like a fresh ceramic coating. Water beads off and doesn't cling.
