DKP Polishing Pads.
Deep scratch.
No talk.
Heavy Cut & Medium Cut pad in a direct test — a deep scratch, polished out of the paint live.
The result upfront
A deep scratch is polished almost completely out of the paint in two steps using the DKP Heavy Cut and Medium Cut polishing pad. No touch-up pen, no post-processing — just pad, machine, and result. The video shows the entire process without cuts.
Why polish scratches — and not mask them
A scratch in the paint is not just a cosmetic problem. Untreated, moisture penetrates the clear coat, UV radiation attacks the exposed area, and a single scratch turns into a much larger problem over time. Polishing — when done correctly — removes the scratch mechanically without weakening the paint.
The right pad is crucial here. Too aggressive: unnecessarily high paint removal, holograms, heat damage. Too soft: the scratch remains. The combination of Heavy Cut and Medium Cut is the most effective method for deep individual scratches.

Heavy Cut & Medium Cut: The right process
Deep scratches are processed in two steps: first with the Heavy Cut pad, which cuts through the scratch and levels the surrounding paint. Then follows the Medium Cut pad, which removes the Heavy Cut traces and brings back the shine. Anyone who skips this process — starting directly with Medium or Light Cut — will not achieve the goal with a deep scratch.
Clean the paint — Thoroughly clean the scratch and surrounding area, remove wax and grease residues. Polishing work requires a clean surface.
Apply Heavy Cut pad — Apply polishing paste, start the machine at medium speed. Work the scratch in short overlapping strokes until it visually disappears.
Check residues — Wipe off polish residues and check: is the scratch gone, are holograms visible? This is normal and will be removed in the next step.
Medium Cut pad for finish — Use finer polish and the Medium Cut pad to smooth the surface and create a high gloss. Slight scratch residue? Use the Light Cut pad as a finishing step.
Apply protection — After polishing, the paint is exposed. Applying a sealant or wax immediately afterward protects the work and prevents new scratches from forming more quickly.
No talk — just results. A deep scratch, polished away live, with no cuts and no retouching.
The DKP polishing pad system
The 5-piece DKP polishing pad set covers every requirement — from aggressive scratch removal to the final finish with wax. All pads are based on the Honeycomb Foam System, which distributes heat generated during polishing evenly and prevents heat damage to the clear coat.
Green · Heavy Cut
Deep scratches & oxidation
Maximum cutting performance for deep scratches, heavy oxidation, and severely neglected paint. First pad in the two-step process.
Maroon · Medium Cut
Light scratches & holograms
Eliminates Heavy Cut traces and light scratches. Restores shine and prepares for the finish — or serves as step 1 for superficial scratches.
Blue · Light Cut / Finish
Fine polish & finish
For the final touch after Medium Cut or for refreshing well-maintained paint. Uniform high gloss without holograms.
White · Waxing
Apply wax & sealant
Soft pad for the even distribution of wax, sealant, or coating. No cut — purely a finishing pad.
Red · Microfiber pad
Extreme high gloss & deep scratches
Microfiber for maximum mirror finish — the pad to use when you want to get everything out of it. Also works on heavily oxidized or deeply scratched surfaces.

FAQ
Which pad should I use for a single deep scratch?
Heavy Cut pad as the first step — it removes enough paint to eliminate the scratch. Then use Medium Cut for smoothing. If the scratch is very deep (into the primer), even polishing will not fully help — in that case, it must be repainted.
Do the pads work with every polishing machine?
Yes — the DKP polishing pad set is suitable for dual-action (DA) and rotary polishing machines. For beginners, we recommend a dual-action machine: lower risk of heat damage, easier control.
Do I need to apply protection after polishing?
Yes — absolutely. Polishing microscopically opens the paint. Without protection, the surface is immediately susceptible to new scratches and UV exposure. Wax (e.g., DKP Signature Wax) or a ceramic coating protects the freshly polished surface and significantly prolongs the result.
How do I clean the pads after polishing?
Regularly remove polish residues during work using a pad brush — this keeps the cutting performance constant and prevents overheating. After use: clean the pad with warm water and pad detergent, let it dry flat. Never stand it on edge or let it dry in the sun.
