Practical Test.
Black metallic paint, stubborn dirt, wheel comparison — what can the Graphene-Hybrid-Coating really do?
In brief
Microfiber cloth dry over black metallic paint – not a single micro-scratch. Finger over heavily soiled rear – no scratches. Sealed vs. unsealed wheel under a real high-pressure jet – the difference is clear. No lab tests, no marketing promises. You'll see the real results in the video.
The Tests at a Glance
Three tests, three conditions – all performed on a vehicle with black metallic paint and real everyday dirt. No prepared test setup, no optimized conditions.
Microfiber cloth dry on sealed black metallic paint
Finger test on heavily soiled, firmly adhering dirt on the rear
Wheel comparison – sealed vs. unsealed with beading test
Black metallic paint · everyday vehicle · real condition
Black paint forgives nothing. Every scratch, every swirl is immediately visible. That's why it's the toughest test for any sealant.
Test 1: Microfiber Cloth on Black Metallic Paint
Black metallic paint is the most honest test for any paint protection. We wiped the sealed surface dry with a microfiber cloth and showed the result directly.
The microfiber cloth glides over the sealed surface, leaving no trace. The Graphene-Hybrid matrix creates an extremely smooth surface on which cloth and dirt particles literally slide off instead of rubbing.
The extremely low surface tension of Shield 3 ensures that particles find no grip – they are dragged along when wiping instead of being worked in. On dark paint, this difference visibly shows what protection truly means.
Test 2: Stubborn Dirt on the Rear
The rear of the vehicle was heavily soiled – not fresh dust, but firmly adhering road grime. We wiped our finger directly over the sealed surface.
Despite stubborn, firmly adhering dirt, no scratches occur. The sealed surface protects the clear coat even under mechanical stress – the dirt dissolves, the surface remains intact.
Ceramic hardness combined with maximum smoothness – that is the difference between a sealed and an unprotected surface in everyday life.
Test 3: Wheel Sealing – Sealed vs. Unsealed
Shield 3 is not just for paint. With a heat resistance of up to +760 °C, it is the optimal DKP coating for wheels. Brake dust, heat, road grime – the combination that every wheel experiences daily.
- Brake dust adheres more strongly
- Water sits on the surface
- Cleaning is laborious
- Brake dust hardly adheres
- Water beads off immediately
- Easy cleaning
The beading comparison in the video is clear: on the sealed wheel, water beads off in clean droplets. On the unsealed side, water lies flat. What applies to water also applies to brake dust and dirt.
The Graphene Effect on Dark Paint
Shield 3 uses finely dosed graphene particles – not to saturate the layer, but to specifically influence the reflective properties of the surface. The result: the color appears richer, the depth more intense, the gloss calmer and more contrasting than with classic SiO₂ coatings. This effect fully unfolds especially on black and dark blue paint.
On dark paints, it's immediately visible: Shield 3 elevates paint depth to another level.
